1. What MenuLens Is

MenuLens is a client-side restaurant menu analysis tool. It runs entirely in your web browser. Your menu data is processed locally and never transmitted to our servers.

2. Data We Collect

MenuLens collects the following information:

  • Menu data: Items, prices, costs, and sales volumes you enter. This is stored in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device.
  • Purchase information: PayPal order IDs are stored locally in your browser to restore your purchase. Payment processing is handled entirely by PayPal.
  • Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool, to collect anonymous usage statistics (page views, referrers). Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal data.

3. What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect email addresses.
  • We do not collect names, phone numbers, or contact details.
  • We do not use cookies.
  • We do not track you across websites.
  • We have no user accounts or registration system.

4. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by PayPal. When you make a purchase, PayPal handles your payment information according to their own privacy policy. We receive only your PayPal order ID for verification purposes. We do not have access to your credit card details, bank account, or PayPal account credentials.

5. Local Storage

MenuLens uses your browser's localStorage to save your menu data, analysis history, and purchase status. This data is stored locally on your device. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings or by using the "Reset All Data" option in the admin dashboard (available in development mode).

6. Third-Party Services

  • PayPal: Payment processing. Subject to PayPal's privacy policy.
  • Vercel: Hosting and deployment. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.
  • Plausible Analytics: Cookie-free, privacy-friendly analytics.

7. Data Security

Since your data never leaves your browser, the security of your menu data depends on the security of your own device and browser. We do not store your data on any server.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
